I was born and raised in Accra, the capital city of Ghana. I studied in Ghana and then Cape Town, South Africa. Since 2013 I have been living and working in Germany as a researcher. I am interested in issues of gender, Islamic religious authorities, Islamic feminists’ theory and methods, Islam in Africa and Islamic religious movements.
